Description Music: Ramses Standing Theme from the Courage the Cowardly Dog OST

She was once a human like them. But how can a short moment turn someone as ghoulish as they can ever be? She was strolling down the streets, eyes gazing as every person doing their own tasks. She was doing an errand for her mother and decided not to reject since her mother is quite strict but heartwarming. Down the street she goes, she came across a woman so fine and beautiful. She looks like she does not belong in her town since the aura of her beauty is strong that passersby can't help but glance at her. The woman walks up to her and shared a proposal. She agreed since she is so considerate and has a warm heart. She does not say no. She was brought to a small hut with clean furniture. The woman sits her down in on the wooden bench while she grabs something from the cupboard. She pours it in the mug and gives it to her. She hesitated to either drink or refuse. "Ano po ito?" (What is this?). "Herbal medicine lang po yan." (It's just herbal medicine). Without pause, she grabs for it and drinks it. Suddenly, she feels strong and full of energy. Like all the weight on your shoulder is gone. "Sarap po nito ah. Uuwi na ako po, may gagawin pa kasi ako"(This taste delicious. I will go home now, I still have to do something important.) She now sets off to do errands but feels light headed. She feels like she wants to crave something. Not those fried chicken, not those Adobo, but a rather surprising craving. A craving for a black chick. She finds all day for the chick and finally founds it. She grabs for it and eats it raw on the spot. For a minute and a half, she craves for something more than a chick. The clock strikes midnight and she stands above the rooftop, eyes scanning every corner. She finally found a target, a child. She jumps roof to roof with agility and lunges onto the child. The last screams of the child alerted the neighbors and she carried the child's body to a secluded place and again jumping on roof to roof with precise agility.
"Andito na siya. Andito na ang Aswang" (It has arrived. The Aswang has arrived)

The term Aswang is an umbrella term used to encompass a variety of vampiric monsters that haunt the Philippines. They come in many different forms. The most common of which is the manananggal. Which appears human during the day. But at night separated its torso from it’s legs and sprouts wings. The manananggal is said to favor preying on sleeping, pregnant women, using an elongated proboscis-like tongue to suck the hearts of fetuses, or the blood of someone who is sleeping.
The vampire aswang disguises itself in the shape of a beautiful woman or a crow. It shares its diet of blood with vampires of Western cultures. However, it differs by sucking blood using a proboscis-like tongue, rather than sharpened teeth. Furthermore, aswang do not live in tombs. Some live in forests far from human communities, but the aswang can infiltrate human society by means of marrying into a community, and either slowly draining their husband of blood, or else using it strictly as a hideout and leaving at night to raid other villages, thereby keeping their cover intact.
Witch aswang are characterized by extreme vindictiveness, laying curses upon those who have crossed her by making certain objects, such as rice, bones, or insects, come out of the bodily orifices of the cursed. Witches have eyes that reflect images upside down, as well as elongated irises. They live in the outskirts of towns and villages.
Ghoul aswang are described as humanoid but generally hidden. Their diet consists of human corpses, they are carrion-eaters. Their nails and teeth are sharp and strong to help with the theft and consumption of the corpses. Their diet makes them smell rank and pungent. They gather in trees near cemeteries to exhume and consume the fresh burials.

Fun Fact: A recent survey reveled that 80% of the people in the Philippines believe in the existence of aswangs. A fact that hasn't ever been exploited by a government psy-op. Not at all.
