he he, it's like a psychedelic hyperspace. i like how parts of it appear to start moving in the opposite direction. nice colors, shapes and overall effect.
assume this is all 2d, are you scaling the main image? and how does it loop?

The main image was a spiral with repeated images in spots on the lines that go to the center of the spiral. I duplicated the basic image, flipped it horizontally and placed it on top of the original; which essentially made the spiral go in both directions. The still image looked more like a flower pattern of some sort. Turning the image 90 degrees counter-clockwise 3 times then looping back to the original creates the motion... a 4 frame animation.Β I then duplicated those 4 frames 5 times, making it a 20 frame animation. I thenΒ made concentric rings of color and starting at the center made each ring change 5% from the center outwards (that's 20 rings of color). Each frame changes hue by 5%, so the position of the colors makes the image(s) shift through the entire color spectrum in 20 frames then repeat.Β This cycle makes the colors appear to move downward to the center of the image.Β The "balls" which appear to be moving outwards at times are an optical illusion and 100% coincidental.Β

thanks and i think i understand all that. you're definitely better at using traditional animation techniques than i would be. i rely on the editing software i use to do all the maths, he he.
