This is a tribute to my best friend, Stephanie. She's put up with me during the good times and the bad, and I know I'm not the easiest person to get along with at times. But even when I've fucked up so bad as to when anyone else would disown me, she's always forgiven me. She taught me what loving a person really meant. Without a doubt, I wouldn't be here today if it weren't for her.However, this peice isn't about our friendship. This is about everything Stephanie has been through in her lifetime. It was never easy for her. She's had her heart broken so many times and her family drama is ridiculous. So many nights she's gone to bed crying her eyes out, and so many nights she's called me with the thought of killing herself. She may be beautiful, but she hasn't ever had it easy. She hides behind a smile, and it kills me to see her fall apart so much. If I could take that away from her and unleash it on myself, she knows I would. Until I can do that, I'll always be there for her when she needs me most. She always has been for me.
Stephanie, here's to you. You've been nothing less than family to me through everything, and I will always love you for that.

I really love the texture and lighting. It reminds me of when I was a child and would lift my shirt up and stick my hands in to hide from people. I hope the your friend's life gets easier. I don't think anyone deserves that kind of drama in their lives.
I wonder though, what happened to your favs? I really enjoy this.

Really, all the depth you mentioned is in this photo... You really did a nice job with this. The textures are right on for the tone you wanted to set. And the clash of those stripes against the dirty image just really makes a strong statement.
Maybe it's just me, but since the sweater has literally very little of the texture on it from the rest of the image, it's like it is sheltering her from all her troubles. Too find comfort in the smallest of things while suffering is to me the measure of how great a person is. It's the details in life that matter

You're right on the mark. I thought that stock photo represented her well, even as a child. She doesen't run from her problems, but I guess her sweater is her immediate shelter from the first row of bullets, which is her close friends who are always there for her. As I said, the representation is dead on.

oh myy..
..I'm at a total loss of how to critique / comment on this one. I just enjoy it how it is really. love the way she is wrapped up in her shirt, which is this warm sort of redish hue..and how everything else is so gritty..
I wonder what she's thinking specifically, beyond what you described in the description. I think someday she will really appreciate you for making this for her my friend

Honestly, I don't know when I'm going to give this to her. Possibly when she's really feeling down to try to make her feel better, but I'm not going to give it to her just out of the blue. I know she would love it and appreciate it either way, she loves my artistic ability (or so she says I have that), but I'd rather have a reason to give it to her as opposed to that.
