Description
Koda watched as Musti disappeared with Aki on the left path. He hated splitting up, it was a one way ticket to Trouble city in his book, but it made sense, they could cover more ground that way.
With one last sigh, he shook his head and flared his wings, the forest was tricky but he knew this path, it was easier to cover from above. His mind raced as he searched for any sign of Keshi.
He didn’t know how long they were searching, but a loud scream from the Eastern side of the forest had him reeling. He slowed his flight to a gentle glide and turned towards the direction of the scream before speeding up and circling where he thought it came from. There was nothing notable about the clearing, it was relatively small. What stopped the blue wyngro was the specks of red he could see from above.
He felt his heart leap into his throat, fearing the worst as he went to land. He kneeled at the largest pool and pursed his lips together, something definitely wasn’t right. He could only sigh in relief as he noted that the trail went back towards the direction of town, and by relation, probably the tap. His ears shot up as a ticking sound filled the forest.
Wait no, not just one. He stood up, wings tucked close to his sides as looking around, first seeing a Tickwook behind him, something was off with this one though; its ticking was off rhythm and its head was turning at a random instead of pinpointing his location.
The scorching on the ear made him tilt his head. Glad he didn’t have to deal with at least one, he turned around, only to jump back lightly as he saw the second Tickwook, breath caught in his throat as he noticed it’s ticking had stopped.
“Shit.” was all he could mutter as it approached him with slow deliberate steps. Gritting his teeth, the scar against his cheek flared with a sort of phantom pain as he stared at the large beast looming over him. He let out a small growl as the creature lunged at him, dodging to the left and narrowly missing the sharp teeth.
Drawing his sword from his hip, he raised it as the tail of the creature swung towards him, effectively blocking it before pushing the tail back. He let out a loud shout causing the tick wook to swing its massive head back towards the biped, ready to snap it’s jaws on Koda.
Koda, in turn, jumped back and rolled to the other side of the spite before jumping up into the air. Taking advantage of the opening, he raised his sword above his head with both hands before swinging it down to the mass of flesh behind the Spite’s neck. There was a gush of inky black blood that coated the shining metal, with little droplets clinging onto Koda’s fur. Koda stumbled as he landed and watched as the Spite made little screeching noises as blood dripped down its neck.
He looked around before looking up. An encounter with two tickwooks was enough; before any more could show up, he flared his wings and took off, heading back to town. Hoping and praying that whatever damage was down could be fixed with a little light magic. Narrowing his eyes against the sun, he sheathed his sword and flew faster back to Wynsiph.
