The people who make money from the internet are the people who tell other people how to make money on the internet. SEO Optimization, blogs, networking, press releases, interpersonal skills, RSS feeds.
I'm sick of it.
If I have to be poor, then okay. I will be poor. But I want to write something of value. Not another stupid time-suck that preys on the desires of people to live rich and easy. Not another goddamn blog post about keywords and feed burner. Another website churning out substance-less dreck, contributing to the mass of flotsam floating on the surface of the water, obscuring the clear blue waves with its stupid, big tentacles of meaningless jargon. Not another e-book about how to cure yourself in 10 quick and easy steps.
There is no cure, motherfuckers. I'm sinking into my disease and loving it.
I want to write something good and strange.

I tried freelance writing for a little while and I think I have no attention span because I just can't concentrate on writing things like that. I am attempting real life now though with a real job. I figure it will actually be awesome to go to work every day, wear funny colored shoes, and come home to my new old house and sit on the pond in my rowboat with a cigar all night. Write or not, doesn't really matter. I think I have realized there are other ways to speak sometimes, which is sort of momentous. You can come to my housewarming party, but no book talk.

I wouldn't want you to "fix" your writing style to make "more money" for the world. Like I've told you, I feel like I've stumbled on a hidden gem or treasure and reading your works always mesmerizes me. I hope to be able to have the skills and the talent with writing that you have one day (but with my own style, of course).
And if you get your novel published, I am for sure going to buy it. Just sayin'.

You already DO write beautiful and strange things, and I'm glad to know that you're never going to give that up. I love the way you write and what you write, and I know a lot of other people do as well, and I'd be surprised if the vast majority of what's written on random blogs and stuff is read at all, much less enjoyed.
Anyway, all that to say, keep up the amazing work, and also self-help books are the DUMBEST THINGS EVER!!! O_O

Self-help books are a perpetuating cycle of fear and loathing.
I write a blog. I don't like it very much so far. I think it's going to take a while before I'm confident enough to let my voice shine through, and without the anonymity of snow-machine.

I used to write a blog. It wasn't very interesting, I didn't really have much to say and no one was listening, so I pretty much quit. I like DA much more.

With the exception of a few people, most people I know from real life don't know about my deviantART account. It's a place where I can actually reveal myself without getting lambasted. (for the most part)

Hmm. I have a lot of friends both irl and online on my DA account, but the people who WOULD generally fuss at me about stuff (namely my mom) don't have access to DA. Not only that, but I like it more because there are more people who actually READ what I write, instead of just like...one person. And I can write poetry or stories or journals or whatever, in the place where they will be most appreciated. Blogs aren't like that.
