Description This one looked quite nice, and I really like this pose in particular.

Unfortunately I didn't find out what this bird is. Part of falconry (static) display at Cotswold Wildlife Park. It's bigger than Harris Hawks.

Thanks to *FantasticFennec , =lauratje86 and *Ciameth for identifying this as a juvenile bateleur eagle.

Ooh, does the face go red or is it either a different subspecies or just colour variation?

Looking at the photos @ Wikipedia ([link] ), I'm almost sure it's changing the colours upon adolescence

Very interesting birds, the one I've seen at the Burren Birds Of Prey Centre was supposedly the only raptor to develop some social/emotional bond with the handlers, as opposed to the rest which were in it only for the chicken

Juvenile Bateleur Eagle would be my guess too - based on the colour and the feathers round the head. They're lovely birds, and this is a lovely photo!

Nice! Did you photoshop the black background? I can't imagine you used a flash for this at 400mm...

No flash, no background editing. It was a dark brown wooden background that was deep enough in the shade.
