Taka crept through the tall grass on his way back to Pride Rock, unnoticed as usual. But this time he was glad. He wasn't suppose to be out alone this late at night, but he'd lost track of time while with the hyenas. While with his new...friends. A secret he'd have to be careful to keep.

"Mufasa," A deep, somewhat distant voice suddenly made the little cub freeze in his tracks. He shrunk and narrowed his eyes. A few feet away his father lay in the grass with his older brother sitting between his front paws.

Another precious father son...thing.

"Look up," Ahadi continued, causing the golden cub to turn his gaze upwards to the heavens. "What do you see?"

"Stars?" Mufasa tilted his head.

Ahadi smiled, "Things are not always what they seem. The Great Kings look down on us from those stars. They're always there to watch over and guide you." he paused, "Just as I will be."

Mufasa's eyes sparkled in awe. Taka meanwhile seemed to shrink into the shadows of the grass that hid him. Unknown to Ahadi, the words that filled one son's heart with love and pride had just stabbed the other.

Had they even noticed he was missing all evening? Just as well. Taka was used to slinking away without drawing too much attention and neither brother or father would ever know he was witness to this special memory.

"You should tell this to Taka, he'd like it. I think he feels lonely sometimes..." Mufasa said as he looked up at his father. Words spoken after the smaller cub was too far away to hear.

I sorta hate how Ahadi came out here, ah well. XD In a way, it's Taka's fault he missed out. This takes place after he first meets the hyenas. But I doubt Ahadi would have remembered to invite him along anyway. Mufasa thought of him though, a little too late.
