Description Well... Okay. So I was unsuccessful. (See Marius de Romanus for details) Lesson learned? If you're going to make an artwork with two subjects, do the picture whole and not as separate pieces.

This is Amadeo a.k.a. Vampire Armand, Marius' fledgling. He was described as having curly auburn hair and a boyish face. He is dressed in blue because that's his color, as red is for Marius.

Amadeo is a character by Anne Rice in Vampire Chronicles.

This Andrei aka Amadeo aka Armand aka I-sleep-with-everything-around-me-that-moves is lovely, tho there is one big inconsistency in this drawing. This style of clothing was fashionable in barocco, meaning seventeenth century, and where was Armand those days, ha..? Haunting the city by nights, rising from the catacombs beneath the Les innocents cemetary. He was there for three hundred years, before Lestat came there and destroyed his coven in the eighteen century. How I can see the difference between the seventeen and eighteen century clothing? THe gents in the seventeen century had larger cuffs on their coats, and they were more pompous and LESS ornate. In the eighteen century, everything was smaller, cuter and more ornate than in the previous one. Except for menΒ΄s shirts, they became less and less complicated during the eighteen and nineteen century - you can see it at their neck ties. At the end of the eighteen century and the beginning of the nineteen, when Louis was still young, for example, he wore the nectie that looked like a priestΒ΄s collar while his coat looked still rococo. This is the only problem I have with the drawing. Sorry for my being such a quibbler. I had to tell you. If you want to see what kind of clothes Armand wore in the fifteen century, look at the fashion in the movie Dangerous beauty by Marshall Herskowitz. Otherwise, this drawing is very accomplished.

Aaah~ Lovely, lovely work on the hair and clothing! I like the different shades of red and brown throughout Armad's hair. Anyone who can draw that century's clothing is like...a god to me. It's so fine!! >w<

I so want to do Lestat as well but i am afraid that I will do no justice. Lestat is such a complex character y'know. And up until now I am still trying to figure out how to draw his "brat"-yness. Hehe!

This, is a perfect Armand. I think its a good idea to do them seperately since this turned out so well - it enables you to work on them more rather then going back and forth on them on the same page.
The textures on his coat are amazing. Well done, this is a gorgeous piece - and I wish you luck putting the two together

Yes, i was able to focus more on armand more when i decided to do them separately. And i get to do a different concept on both. hehe.

Heh heh, well.. Marius is an old favourite of mine - and it was just such an interesting take on him - I loved it. I've gone off Anne Rice's books to be honest, but Blood and Gold is one of those rare books I pick up and reread now and again.
