The Stag of the West cannot toss the sun, for his neck was damaged in battle, so he walks with the sun in his antlers, handing it to the East. This is why we have the night. Sometimes East cannot toss the sun very high, this is what makes the winter. During this time, West must make a longer journey to take the sun back to the East, and tonight is the longest journey he will make, carrying the sun in his great antlers so that the Eastern Stag can once again throw it into the sky, and from now, the Stag of the East will be able to throw the sun higher and higher with each day, and the Stag of the West will have a shorter journey to make.'
