Done under the Skylight at Barnsite Gallery The light is quite a bit harsher than I would like personally, but they have a great studio setting over there.

i think the rendering in the bottom half of the figure is wonderful, the lighting playing with the tones and form of the flesh is perfectly presented

First of all I love this work. I have to say tho that the butt is shocking. It looks like its eating the stool. That said, I like it the way it is.

Well, I'm not "airbrushing" the women in my paintings, I'm painting whats up there
This women has the confidence to get up and model nude for a room of 20 artists, so I admire her quite a lot.

Agreed and kudos for that. It's brave. It's real. There's a dysfunction in popular culture about aesthetics; fake boobs, superhero muscles, ideals of so-called beauty that are exaggerated. It's a big smoke screen. What's truly beautiful is what's loved. So, that said, it's a really good study.

It looks good. I particularly enjoy the modeling of the back musculature.

Dealing with the tough part is always my favourite part about drawing and painting. I find it to be zen-like.

Ha, me too! Its like I go into a trance, I have one focus until I feel like the painting is done, I cant think about anything else.

wow, another small painting. I like how you painted the model's butt lol. I like all the different colours you used... I can even see some browns that look like greens as well as purples.. wow!

her bum and legs seem oddly coloured and makes her seem deformed, or did she have a very contrasting tan line? lol. Or is it the lighting you spoke about? Really sorry about that I normally try and avoid critiquing peoples work but you are really talented. Everything else about the painting is perfectly executed and the colours really work well together in creating depth in the model. (I'm talking nonsense aren't I? ignore me lol im no expert in oil painting)

Thanks for the mini critique! I always appreciate them~ It was actually a combination of the light and her very harshly contrasting tan lines, very difficult to paint
