The front page for my recent comic, no title tough. I suck at drawing happy people, people are never happy in my comic.This was a much bigger challenge than I thought, I was close to scrap the whole thing because I didn't like it at first. But now I think it's not that bad.
Some new characters here I never have drawn before, I think they speak for themselves who they are.
I liked drawing the blood, I used a mix of premade blood textures and drawing it myself.
You can read the comic on Inkblazers now. This wraps up everything for the test comic, time to work on the reboot! I still have a few character designs left.
Please tell me what you think! I'm open for criticism.

Looks like we can assume who died.
The interesting part about this is that they all knew each other from before the zombie days? That makes the relationships in the test comic more mysterious.

The blood tells alot, if you look at where it's placed.
But yeah, these people where all friends before the zombies. They are standing in front the RV from the comic, they were on a vacation when shit went down.
Unlike the original group (Tobias, Remi and some new guys) which is about living with strangers after the infection and making new friends, Linda's group is about keeping friendships after shit goes down. Which in they aren't doing too well.

Now this is really interesting. Here I was thinking that all the groups are related, but that doesn't seem the be the case! You are really making me want to read this, haha xD I love when my assumptions are wrong about stories!!

Yeah, In the original I didn't establish what kind of relation the characters had with each other. I sorta made things up as I went.
Changing that is one of the main reasons for the reboot.
My main concern right now is the pacing of the reboot. In the original everything was very fast paced, and now I'm afraid it's gonna be too slow for the readers.
There are more things going on in the reboot, especially the start. It start slowly and build up. It will be interesting too see if It will turn out like I imagine.
My plan is to make the entire beginning before I publish the comic online. So you can read the start without waiting for new pages.
Anyways, I haven't made any pages yet. I haven't even started on the storyboard so anything can happen. Nothing is certain yet.

I think a slower beginning is forgivable if it is done well. Trying to cover up the slowness will disappoint people; making a show of it will bring hype for the fast parts

Haah, I'm editing the storyboard for the first part of chapter one right now. Storyboards for chapter 0/prologue is done.
My plan is to upload the prologue plus chapter one in one go when I'm done with most of the pages up to chapter 2. That is a lot of pages to draw before I'll show anything!
The start is not as slow as I originally intended. I cut a bunch of scenes I planned at the beginning, they where pointless and boring. Now the comic will start a bit further in the plot and pick up more quickly.
Most of the dropped content can be added in dialogue, I don't think it's necessary to show everything.

And you're right, showing only what needs to be seen is the best way to bolster visual story-telling. If you're making such decisions now, it makes me hopeful for the story proper
