Mhm, been working on this since June. I think I bit off way more than what I was expecting...The funny part is early today I was just working on it one bit at at time and then suddenly I realized "Wait, I'm done?"In Illustrator: Outlines, the Doublade on the sail, and the compass symbols on the globe (That took 3 hours them selves, never attempted something like that in illustrator before. Totally worth it.)
Everything else was done in Photoshop

Plenty of Pokemon can actually go beyond their comfort zones, like fire Pokemon in large bodies of water, rock Pokemon in water, etc. The anime and comics just make it confusing because sometimes it's okay, and sometimes it's strictly forbidden. I know I've seen an episode where a charizard swims, and a scene from the comic where Green's Charmander is a great swimmer...on the other hand I know the anime has made statements like "if Charmander's tail goes out it dies."
But, if you're wondering why Charmander at all, I made a journal post.

I showed this to one of my friends and he said it was stupid......so I punched him in the face......I feel much better now,,,,,Bravo windwaker was my second faviorite. Me and my sister were having a debate of which pokemon would make a better link and zelda I said Charmander and Vulpix, my sister said Celebi and Mew. I think I was correct this is amazing......

Oh my god, this is incredible. You nailed every single character. And syncing up the enemies with other Pokemon is priceless as well. There's so much detail in this - like those great map images! - I can't even believe it. I can't stop looking at it. Bravo, my friend.

Thank you. I had debated for a while if I wanted to include the map images, but considering how much time I had spent on the image as a whole it didn't make sense to skimp out on fun details.
The only thing I cut out was the islands. After finishing the Boat/anchor/castle thing I wasn't going to torture my self any more. Not my strong suit.
