>>> Prompt
___
A survey by the group:
Were the prompts well written and easy to understand? How could the writer possibly improve their next prompt?
Very nicely described and I hope I understood it just right as well!
Enough freedom for creativity and yet specific enough.
How did you interpret the design? Which features did you use? Did you stick to the pallet/prompt or did you make changes? Does the design have any special abilities/quirks?
I tried to mash up the owl and sloth features with the general fuzzy look of a moth.
The long arms and claws, the flat face and gentle look being from the sloth, the 'beak' and facedisc (how the face is framed) and the feet from the own, and the rest from the moth.
The most clearly seen on the wings and abdomen. I was first thinking whether it makes sense including those, or in other words, if it made sense for them to evolve that way.
As they are no longer able to independantly fly, their wings are rather made for gliding. Even tho they may look like moth wings, they are not as fragile and do not move that way either. They are more comparable to the flaps of flying lizards. Can spread and retreat but not more.
I also settled on the concept that they incubate their eggs in their moth abdomen, but birth their children the mammal way (just as wished) and they spread pheromones to communicate if the fog happens to be too thick to see through.
Speaking of seeing, I made their eyes highly reflective. It's like in cars, the reflecting light doesn't necessarily help you see through mist, but it helps you getting seen (which has both advantages and disadvantages in nature, I'd guess).
Here is also a quick concept of the differences in genders, as you wanted them to be diverse.

There I decided to make males darker and sturdier.
Of course you can change and adapt as you wish!
Hope you like it and cheers!
