that book was so sad i want to see the movie now and i'm reading khaled hosseini's book a thousand splendid suns it's a great cover and in a way gives out the ending or parts of the book but it makes it look it's not telling you a single as other have comment i must say i can't think of a "Advanced Critique Encouraged" so yes it's a pice of gold

i absolutely love this...i read the book and this is a great visual for it... the color is absoultely wonderful... i liked how you used the glare in the eyes... brilliant.. hope to see more

I love your use of hatching for the shading! ^_^ Makes it seem sketchier (in the art way! Not to weird...teenager-way XD) I like it a lot

i love his facial expression. looks like he's realizing something! mmm, and it makes it stronger to make THE kite runner enveloped in light!

Yeah they told me that part of the bookhad him being smuggled out of the country in a truck? Gas truck? I added it in their as part of the story. Thanks for the comments!

Just finished the book, so I feel like I can finally comment on this.
The use of symbols on your cover is very muh in keeping with Hossieni's writing style, and you've executed the overall composition of this piece very nicely. Everything seems to fit in where it should. I personally love the sun burst surrounding the kite runner and his kite, the sunlight on the road, and how the truck reminds me of a snap-shot of events in the past.
Honestly, the only part that doesn't jive is how abruptly the man's portrait ends, just below his collar. The rest of the picture seems like it would warrant a fade-out. But that's the critic in me. I wouldn't change a thing with this. This is wonderful art. Beautiful work.

I really suggest you read the book. It's not even my favorite type of narrative, and I loved it. Again, great picture.
