Thank you. No, just a Natural History Illustration student, (I guess that makes me a naturalist of sorts?) but I also consider myself a fantasy illustrator. I have an interest for science, and I like working with scientists, though. Pleased to meet an ecologist!

Β Natural History Illustration student: very cool.
And fantasy illustration, you say. Iβve done a bit of that myself, mostly watercolors.
Take a gander if you like: sonofincog.blogspot.no/

Great illustration! This mushroom is awsome! I've always associated with magic! Love the dark tone of red you used!

Amanita's are quite special.
Used by shamen in Siberia to visit the nether world ...

Not only by siberian shamans, as far as I know! Also vikings and dacians used it!

Wow, I think it's great that you are a botanist! I would love to have your knowledge!
I guess it could be, many things about vikings are misunderstandings, like the fact that they were wearing horned helmets!

Exactly - same thing with the horned helmets.
A professor I worked with years ago is the top mushroom man in Norway. He wrote an interesting article about the Vikings and the Amanita. There was no historic proof that they ever used it. Plus, it wouldn't be very smart to go into battle totally stoned on Amanita mushrooms. You wouldn't last very long ...
