The stranger was still demanding things of her. Her voice was harsh and made the fur on Little Thing’s back bristle. And then the stranger went so far as to refer to her children as ‘damn pups’. Who was this coarse stranger? A liar and a thief, clearly. And quite dangerous. Little Thing had a duty to fulfill.“You’re a liar!” Little Thing shouted. “You haven’t even said who you’re looking for!”
She didn’t like being scowled at. She didn’t like being given orders by a dog that wasn’t Sencha. She didn’t like strangers, or other dogs at all. And this dog was meeting all of those criteria.
