An elf of many poses and costumes. The lower left is my favorite...he's about to jump off the page.

Awesome. Elf Quest is speciel to me. It's what really got me to draw and read comics.
This looks great.

Though I never liked his sideburns, I must say I like big-mouthed angry Cutter at the bottom left best. "Yaaaaaarrr!!" You're just great with expressions.

Yeah. I have a mirror over my drawing board as well.

You know, Sonny seeing your comments on this really brings back memories.
Honestly, ever since I studied under you (and even before then)I jump at the chance to tell others what I learned. If I can help people fly too then that's good enough for me.

Elfquet has been my inspiration for over a decade; it's what has motivated and taught me how to draw. While I still have a long way to go.... Anyway, Love the last Cutter one; looking great!

Being Wendy's apprentice was definitely the highlight of my career

Wendy was my sensei...my jedi master. But to complete my training I had to create my own light saber.

And today they merely teach. Perhaps if they spent more time fostering potential instead of impeding it's growth they'd have a greater understanding of their own potential and might actually accomplish things like you have.
Congradulations! Sounds like it was well earned!

I have yet to 'break though', but at least I got some fans who demand that my 3rd book should come out yesterday XP The story is written, but combining it all into 1 solid story is tricky... I was really proud when my novels were published ^_^
You know the most ironic part of all? XD I actually graduated as a teacher as well, though I hope to one day be able to live of my writings and illustrations.

Even if you never got anything published it is not a teachers job to tell you if you should or should not go into a field. A teachers job is to inform and encourage...and that's all.
I taught cartooning for 2 years and acting for 3. In those 5 years never did I once tell a child they were not cut cut out for it.
Especially when concerning something like art. Art at its best is not a competition...it's a personal journey. The discoveries you make are yours alone. Getting on tv or published those are just icing and are not necessary for personal fullfillment in art.
I told myself years ago that I might not be able to do this or that better than so in so...but nobody expresses Sonny Strait better than Sonny Strait. I strive to best myself.

I couldn't agree more. One of my best students is an Autistic Child ^_^ A lot of people think Autistic kids or people can't do a thing!

She taught me so much. But eventually the young jedi must make his own light saber...or some equally nerdy analogy.

Thanks! I spent a year as Wendy's apprentice learning how to draw like her...it was nice to revisit Cutter years later in my own style.

It looks pretty nice, I like the texturing on his clothes and the overall composition, but I got to say that I think his chest is too large compared to the rest of the body (specially the legs) I donΒ΄t know if that was your intention, but for me it gets kinda difficult to see (specially in the first and third drawings)

Wendy's EQ characters are a bit barrel chested. I was pushing things into almost caricature here...getting into Bruce Tim territory.
