I think you could do it. There are plenty of animals to reference like lizards, bats, and birds. Try looking up bearded vultures they are pretty awesome.

oh so you haven't been painting with sai much? it looks great though even if it took time, you shouldn't worry about that since speed comes naturally with more practice.
btw was the canvas you were working on really 200x200 pixels, or did you make it smaller after you finished?

I usually only sketch in Sai. I have played a bit with painting, but nothing serious.

This was drawn at actual size. I didn't want to work big because it's not worth it for $8. If I worked big it would have taken even longer. >_<

A trick I tend to do when working on big pictures is to put on a movie that I've seen before. I use the movie as a time limit, and when it's over I either take a break/stop drawing/work on something else. I don't know if that will help you or not, but so far it has worked wonders for me and kept me drawing my own stuff despite the weight of the projects from my instructors~♥

I don't really own any movies. I don't even have a DVD player unless I hook up the PS2.

I usually just open a folder of music in WinAmp.

In that case perhaps make a playlist not on repeat and use it as a timer instead, though I'm not too familiar with WinAmp to say that is an open option. Perhaps a suggestion then~♪ I admire your work much and want to see you do well~♥

Yeah it can do that. It's actually a lot easier to use than some of the big bulky music programs.

It just doesn't work well as an icon because of the coloring. The background should probably be a little darker to make the figure stand out more.

I find it easier to draw dragons if I paint instead of draw lineart. I think I just got lucky with the shading. It could use a little more contrast, but overall I sort of like it.

I didn't draw the other horn, but whatever. I'm no good at figuring out were it should go.
