Squall from Final Fanstasy VIII.First of the summer commissions! Lots of studs went into his belts (hooray for finding a big box of them at the craft store) and fun times were had making his gunblade.

I think I'm finally getting less jetlagged, but I'm still missing Japan like crazy. So it hasn't been the best. Do you miss Italy at all??

Yeah, but it's kinda dreamlike. I feel like I went there years ago and have been back in the states for ages. And then sometimes I feel like heading down the street to the square by our appartment and it takes a minute to realize I can't.

I know that feeling!! I got a similar experience when coming back from my euro-trip two years ago. Maybe it's just a thing abt europe, because somehow coming back from Japan, it's not dreamlike... it's more like, I forgot how to live in the western world, and even sorta forgot my friends and family! And now I'm just regaining my memory... it's a really weird feeling!

EEEE!!!! I LOVE HIM!!!! OH! Sorgie! You have so COMPLETELY made my day- no my month!! I so cannot wait to get him! I love him! He is SO beyond what I thought he would be! (not that I was doubting your skills, I just, I had no idea HOW you would do half of him!)
And his Gunblade... Oh... I have the mini, official Square-Enix one... and goodness, it looks really close! Its so, SO prefect! And the tiny Grievers! I love it... my Fiancee loves it too! (as I said, that was an important part!)
I love all the belts and studs and oh I so cannot say enough about how I love him!
I cannot WAIT to hug his little, pissy self!

Well, you definitely nailed Squall's customary "mildly peeved" expression...and that gunblade! Did you ink the pattern onto the blade part? He looks great, right down to the crazy FF belts.
I gotta admit, I'm imagining that Squall is internally humming "I Believe I Can Fly" in that top picture. It's like someone snapped a candid shot of him doing something undignified, and he's going to be really unhappy when copies show up in the SeeD student commons.

Ha! Who doesn't love the idea of Squall being caught doing something 'beneath' him.
Thanks - the lion (?) pattern on the blade is ink, paint, and a dull pencil to 'engrave' it and the belts were crazy fun to make (mostly because of finally finding studs that are a pleasure to work with).
