Description
Most of this was drawn recently. This was originally a 2-year-old small sketch of a screencap from the 1981 production of Mass. I thought I should take advantage of more screencaps and capture the ending of the song, "God Said," which was performed by Stephen Bogardus and cast. Here I featured the rogue member of the congregation (Stephen Bogardus) who ends his antics when he's finally caught by the Celebrant (Joseph Kolinski).

Actors on Broadway (and musicals in general) are so expressive. They're like live-action cartoon references just waiting to be drawn. Fun practice.

Mass is probably my favorite musical or theatrical piece. Great lyrics by Stephen Schwartz. Great music by Leonard Bernstein. All about religion: the good, the bad, and the ugly.
