I think I should write something because it's my own stock photo.
I feel a bit confused, because I don't think it's manip too. I am a photo manipulator and I always usend more than one stock photo.
Here I see only changed colours, some contrast and blur.
This work have so many fav because it's popular stock photo with DD. I know it's maybe some way for get more popularity but in my opinion a bit unfair.

This is not a manip. It's a photo retouching. That's all. The actual photo is not manipulated in any way. The only thing that's been changed are the colors, and anyone with basic knowledge of Photoshop can do that.

Ah lovely! I know this is under photo manipulation, but I'm wondering if the cat's eyes weren't really that shade of orange? I have seen cats with rather orange eyes before, and it's by second favorite to the blue of Siamese eyes. The typical yellow-green is nice, but the orange works well for this photo. It seems to carry a bit more emotion and couples well with the angle of the shot not allowing full view of the cat's mouth.
I'll agree with the critique you receieved in the area of focus, the detail in the cat's head is wonderful but it does seem to pull the head off of the body. I believe that focus on the body could've shown it's scrawny nature which might have contributed more to your theme

The head looks almost too large for the rest of the body, but otherwise I like this picture. The kitten's expression is intense, and I can imagine a lot of "LOLcat" captions for this pic... three of them being "YA RLY" (like the owl), "I see what you did there," and last, but not least, "DON'T F--- WITH ME!" Keep up the good work.

Well OK, probably You're right about me being rude, my bad, but getting back to photo - i achieved some similar effects (i admit, without glowing eyes) with my photos using some curves levels etc...
And besides my rudeness, i realy don't have to remain silent when i dont ike something when every body loves it. Sorry for rudeness again.

I am starting to get sick of these.
I have around 1% manips in my gallery, and i always use a lot of time on each one.
if you think it is just a slide with a saturation bar, you have a software i don`t.
compare the photos again, and look closer.

But i realy would let it pass (Your manip) if rest of You photography wasn't so stunning in some way.
This one would be great too, if You would be an author - that's the main thing that bothers me.

Just because you don't happen to see the work he put into this doesn't mean much obviously. And I like the background the way it is here. The STOCK background, on the other hand is obviously in need of work, because it dominates and distracts from the picture. Sort did a great job of recoloring it and refocusing the picture on what is important.
On topic: Great work Richard, this one is very, very cool and I wish I had the skills you do.

It actually takes quite a bit of work to get the colours the way you want them. I don't know if you've used Photoshop before, but it can get quite complicated.
If you have a problem with the picture, don't post a rude comment. Keep it to yourself, or put it in the form of a constructive critique.
