This is actually a matte painting. What that means is that I take stock photography (that I am allowed to use ), cut and arrange it in photoshop, then paint over top. Where you want super fine detail, you simply let the original image show through. As a rule of thumb though, the more you add, the better it looks. You just keep adding layers of color (starting from broad areas of color and work down to minuscule detail). However, there is a point where adding the original image back into the project give it a great stylized look .

Aha I see, yea that will be one of the things I will learn in the new education, or perhaps learn myself So if I understand the half I see is picture?^^ Such as all those windows and stuff^^

Yea thats a good estimate: 50% paint, 50% photo. I wish it were all paint, but thats too time consuming. This technique looks way cooler before you know how its done BUT! this is how all the Hollywood peoples make epic backdrops for movies and stuff, so its a pretty widely used technique

Thats because that IS that building It was my reference. Very good eye
There is also a building from Hong Kong and Frankfurt in there. The references I used were stock, and are listed in the full project description linked in the comment section
