#Sinnoh or #Hisui ? I went with the former because I’d already planned these out before #pokemonlegendsarceus was announced!

This is the first of 3 posts so that’s why it’s a bit smaller. I’m personally not the biggest fan of the #tyranitar line but I know so many people love it- so I know this post will be great for others 😅.

#Larvitar is actually my favorite of this line- So let’s start with its beta sprite… which was well- a blob. It seemed unfinished but then again, it was colored 🤷🏼. So I turned it into a #regionalform and I went with poison just because it reminds me of #grimer or #swalot . Plus it’s purple eyes and long tongue gave me poison vibes. However I could see it and this whole makeshift line being a #dragon type as well.

Speaking of #makeshift - this #pupitar regional form was actually not much of a sprite. It was some kind of mix of larvitar and Tyranitar and it wasn’t finished. However I needed a form for pupitar to complete this line so I changed it a bit to l look more like pupitar. The sprite didn’t really make sense so hopefully you can tell what I did and how it’s still meant to be a #pupa . Here again I went with poison but added it’s old rock type because that seems the most appropriate- however a part of me wants to change this whole line to dragon type.

Last but not least there’s #sugimori’s old Tyranitar art work that wasn’t official game art but part of his “alternative universe” #pokemon . So it worked perfect to finish this line! I also made a gender variant of it because I did find variations in its older sprites that were very similar to this sugimori art. So much so, that I really believe this art was actually a beta Ttar design. The sprite had the same very spikes back but it different arms and legs; and it also had no pupils- playing well into the poison typing again! The back sprite also revealed more holes in its back, so I added that too.
