Description
Saw The Adventures of Tintin: Secret of the Unicorn a while ago (twice, actually), and fell in love with it. Thanks to the movie, I'm now intent on reading the original books/comics. Never heard of the series before (I'm American, go figure).Picture belongs to the movie, obviously.

I've read the entire series, save two (I refuse to read Tintin in the Congo, though I might now)
It's an amazing series, fast paced with plenty of action, comedy and villains
It's, by far, my favorite comic series

Yes, the movie has done it's job! I was one of the few Americans that knew about Tintin before the movie and hoped that it would bring more into the fold. This page has officially made my day.

Haha I'm American and in the same boat as you too. I knew of Tintin before the movie but was never into it (I found one of the books in the library as a kid and desperately wanted to read it, except it was in French. 
The cartoon is epic. Have you seen "The Blue Lotus" yet? There's a scene where Tintin pretends to be high on drugs - it's freaking hilarious 
Oh, and I found out there were some earlier cartoons made in the '60s, and two live-action movies...the guy who played Tintin in those was almost as hot as the CGI version xD Clearly I'm becoming obsessed. lol

Well, the episodes are pretty accurate to the comics. I just bought The Secret of the Unicorn, and it's just like the episode except for two or so things.
I'm actually planning on having my fanfic take place in modern times, but making Tintin remain himself in basically every way. I think it would be fun to have modern technology mixed in with the series
