I'm always on the fence about her with make-up. I always envisioned her putting it on at times, but not usually in costume. I can see her doing it more now that she is a modern woman living in a modern American city surrounded by the media and cellphones.

Something to ponder, indeed.Β Would getting made-up, spending time and money on something as trivial as appearance separate her from the "common woman," make her seem to be an elite?Β I know I am harkening back to old-fashioned communism, which is stereotypically drab and gray, but as much as I like her with eye shadow, maybe that should be saved for a special occasion, like a ball or ceremony.
Connie, of course, don't got time for all that "froo-froo hooey," and would say that she's sexy enough as it is.

Not just her Soviet upbringing but she is so tom-boyish too and a soldier. She never wore make-up back in the old days and even when she first arrived in AF. It doesn't feel like "her" and it does make her feel elitist in a way. Still, she likes to look "good" from time to time and knows that the world is watching her, commenting on everything from her eye shadow to her lack thereof.
