This is probably my favorite picture from A-Kon 23. Partially because both of them are show casing props I made, but the two of them are also such awesome cosplayers!

Shit
You do some freakin' awesome work!! I mean I love their costumes, but the good props can really make it...

How much do you charge to make stuff like this? The Star Wand of Sakura's I made (the one from season 3/Master of the Clow, not this fancy one x'D) broke awhile ago and I haven't ever gotten around to making another one Plus I don't really know what to use to make a new one x'D

Thanks

It's hard to give a general price on this kind of stuff as it can vary depending on what the prop is. I would say, on average I charge 150. But of course for bigger and/or more detailed props it costs more while smaller or less detailed props it costs less. I'm always more than happy to give out a quote.

It would be this want of Sakura's [link]

I'd have to see about having the money to pay for it x'D But yeah I'd love a quote to think about! What material(s) do you use to make them anyway? They look really good, but are they heavy?

Ah, I was actually thinking of making that wand sometime soon to complete the collection.

I will shoot you a note with a quote later today.

As for materials, the final products use Smooth-Cast 300/320 (liquid plastic resin), a dowel rod, and paint. The bird head wand for example weighed about 3-4 lbs total, mainly because the bird head has quite a bit of mass to it. The originals that I make molds from are created with MDF wood. For the larger props I use insulation foam, foam board, wood, and sometimes a metal rod for extra support. I have tons of progress pics in my gallery if you need any reference.

It would complete it, huh?

Wow, you put so much amazing work and effort into these! And that weight isn't bad at all! I really will think about getting the wand from you. Thank you again!
