Description Princess Koriand'r of Tamaran, known as Starfire, had always been a fierce warrior. Her world was embroiled in a brutal war against the Citadel, a tyrannical empire that sought to conquer and enslave her people. After enduring torture and experimentation at the hands of her enemies, she seized an opportunity to escape. Stealing a spacecraft, she fled, not knowing where her journey would take her.

The craft's navigation systems, damaged during her escape, malfunctioned, and Starfire crash-landed on Earth. Dazed but unbroken, she emerged from the wreckage in the midst of Jump City. Her arrival did not go unnoticed. The energy surge from her ship drew the attention of the young heroes known as the Teen Titans.

Robin, the team's leader, was first to arrive on the scene. He found Starfire disoriented but defiant, her hands glowing with the power of her starbolts. Seeing her as a potential threat, he called for backup. Soon, the rest of the Titans—Cyborg, Raven, Beast Boy, and a newly-joined Terra—were at his side, ready to confront the mysterious alien.

A misunderstanding led to a brief skirmish. Starfire, unable to communicate in their language, defended herself, her warrior instincts taking over. However, Raven, using her empathic abilities, sensed the fear and desperation behind Starfire's aggression. She convinced Robin to stand down and allow her to establish a mental connection.

Through Raven’s telepathy, Starfire's tragic story unfolded in their minds. They saw the horrors she had faced, her flight from oppression, and her desire for freedom. Moved by her plight, the Titans welcomed her into their team, recognizing a kindred spirit who had also faced loss and hardship.

With the help of Cyborg, who managed to translate her language and repair parts of her spacecraft, Starfire began to adapt to life on Earth. She found solace in her new friends, particularly Robin, with whom she shared a growing bond. Her alien abilities—superhuman strength, flight, and the ability to project energy—proved invaluable to the Titans.
