Description This is my attempt at making a steampunk guitar.
It did not really turn out all steampunky but more a combination between some fantasy, armor kind of stuff and some steampunk details.

It used to be a boring Richwood guitar, so it definitely needed some customizing

Here is a video of it working [link]

I just sold it.

Where does one obtain a circular blue (plasma) light? I have seen them in photos, but never for sale anywhere. I was using a 9-volt battery as my power source. Would that work for a light such as this one? I am a great admirer. That is a fantastic looking guitar.

heh, I'm kinda that way too, just paste on everything you can and make it look cool. this sure sets it apart from the huge crowds of Fender Strats out there, mission accomplished!!

That is really cool! I bet it's pretty heavy after all the additional metal. The light effect is a nice touch as well! Good job!

Thank you And yes it is a bit heavier than it used to be , but everything in silver color is actually aluminum, so it's not too heavy.

I would LOVE to have that guitar, if not for the fact that I would be afraid to play ANYTHING on it...
Other than that, Simply amazed at the detail and the outcome! FANTASTIC JOB!!!

How did you get the plasma belt buckle in there? I have a similar shaped guitar that I'm doing the same thing to, and I'm just trying to figure out how to fit it on the guitar without the battery box sticking out of the back. Email me if you get a chance. jackieangrrr@gmail.com

I drilled a hole in my guitar that was a bit bigger then the plasma belt buckle (that makes it easier to switch it off and on and replace the battery's).
Then I got a round piece of rubber (which was bigger then the hole in my guitar). I then cut a hole in the rubber a bit smaller than the plasma belt buckle.
Then I put the piece of rubber around the glass disk so that it would be stuck between the glass and plastic part of the plasma belt buckle. Then I glued the rubber on my guitar so the plasma disk wouldn't fall out.

(And I also screwed an extra piece of plastic on the top, but more because I thought it looked cool ).

I hope this explanation helps you, if not you can always ask me more.
Good luck with getting the plasma disk in your guitar
