It’s part of an AU!headcanon…Gene is some kind of guardian angel and people are not supposed to see his wings (unless he makes an effort). But some time after episode 2.08 Sam starts seeing them. He blames it on hallucinations at first but realizes that they are real laterI like to imagine that Gene spreads them out to shield his team or curls them around Sam sometimes (maybe he doesn’t even realize it)… …. those are the kind of AUs I come up with to satisfy my love for wings XD
