Indeed, its a captivating glare, hard to take your eyes off her eyes when she looks at you.
Nope, adult female, I think she is about 6/7 years old when these photos were taken

Indeed. The same with many raptors- here in China, we have Black-shouldered Kites with eyes as red as wine. Whenever I see them, I can't help but stare...

Ah, okay Forgive me, I'v only ever seen the male, and that was a fleeting glimpse over some pine trees on Cape Breten Island..

The black- shouldered kites are great birds!
no need, it can be difficult at times to tell between adults and juvies

They are! We have other kites here- namely Black-eared, but they're not really the same- the way they hold themselves, the way they move..at least that's what I think..
