Description
While fighting the Locusts outside the Tomb of the Unknowns in the city of Ephyra, a larger Locust name General RAAM walk up behind them intending to kill the Gears' leader. As a bonus for General RAAM, he recognized the Gears' leader, Lieutenant Minh Young Kim, they met before in Ilima City.

General RAAM was a quiet but ruthless Locust. RAAM was once a Drone soldier, then a member of the Theron Guard. His skill, intellect, strength, and his loyalty to the Horde and Queen Myrrah earned him the title of head of the military leadership of the Locust Horde.

Seven years before Emergence Day the Locust Horde began to fight the Lambent, what was later called the Lambent War. Before he was a General, he led the Bloodied Vanguard with Skorge against the Lambent during the Lambent War. RAAM believed that the Lambent were not mindless monsters, that they were being led by something, and not knowing what made it impossible to destroy them, and his friend Karn agreed with him, but High-General Vold Sraak didn't.

Later a couple of days before E-Day, Sraak realize that he underestimated Lambent after going to the frontlines and saw they were spreading to fast, and was later demoted to lieutenant, and RAAM was promoted to Uzil, or High General, of the Locust army, becoming the new second-in-command to the Locust Queen.

Sraak later attacked RAAM during E-Day stated that a title was not earned but taken. Sraak challenged RAAM to a fight and vowed to reclaim his rightful place while RAAM stated that he would claim Sraak's head as his victory prize. And Sraak overpowered RAAM but before he could kill him, RAAM had two Theron Guards shot Sraak with their Torque Bows, destroying the chest piece of his formidable armor and seriously wounding Sraak, and then RAAM finish him off. This showed that RAAM had the loyalty of the Locust army and not Sraak. (I learned this from a Gears of War website.)
