Something I did for an art show coming up in September. The cat was supposed to be a marble bengal but it kind of looks like a ground squirrel instead. I still like it, though.And even though the scan doesn't show it, the moon and stars (all of them) were done with an iridescent paint, so they shine when you walk by.

Don't worry, I could tell it's a cat; I didn't even think of a squirrel till I read your comments. This is so beautiful! It's got a serene, whimsical feeling to it that makes me remember bedtime poems from my childhood.

I was watching you apply some of the paint...it's just amazing. And I like the design on the cat, even if it is a little like a squirrel. (Miniature squirrels! Lol)
I especially like the way you did the background...the blue fading to black. It's very nice.

just curious but how do you do a wash with acrylic? Iv only ever done so with watercolor o.o

Sorry about not replying for so long.
To do the acrylic wash, I dipped my brush in a little paint and then stuck it in a cup of water to dilute it. This gave me something that was almost like watercolor, but with the strong, dark colors of acrylic. Hope that made sense...
