Description Anyone been watching the BBC's Big Painting Challenge on Sunday nights?  It's about halfway through the series now and I'm really enjoying it.  Running alongside the show is a Little Painting Challenge competition where viewers are invited to create original art on a postcard and send it to them.  This is my entry, sketched in pencil, then inked up and coloured with various brands of alcohol marker.  Let's see what happens!

-------------- update 27 April 2015 ---------------

Received an email this evening advising my submission made it into the final 1000 to be displayed in the Manchester Whitworth Gallery....

Congratulations on getting your entry exhibited. I would of course like to see a sequel where the string was put to use

The scan doesn't do it justice bud, much better looking in real life. Well done and good luck.

Thanks mate!  Not sure it's 'arty' enough to win but I look forward to seeing what happens nonetheless.

Lovely work using copics. Great colors along with those STRINGS!
So did you use reference on this one?

I have a copy of a book published in the eighties: The Illustrators Figure Reference Manual.  The book is intended to be used for artists to reference poses.  I based this pose on one of the references though I changed her hair, clothes, background and, of course, added those strings!
