Sphinx47 — My Afghan -close up-

Description Just a close up.

Now my Grandmother Mears made this in April 1981. It was for a full size bed with canopy. She hand crocheted this. I don't know how long it took for her.

I decided to pull it out and use it once again. She passed away a few months ago.

I'm learning to crochet too, but the afgans in the books I have are with chunky wools and look crap.
This looks much nicer, lacy and more femminine I likes it alot

I'm going to tackle a pair of slippers now

These hand-crafts are so important in passing down a bit of oneself from generation to generation...

Yes, and a dying art. I get so pissed off when I see something handmade in a thrift store like a afghan or latch hook. I know how long it takes to makes those things.

I'm a pack rat for a reason. Alot of my stuff had been passed down, or my Mom made, or it's a toy such-in-such gave me.
