We had to use the C. F. Payne illustration technique for class in a practice piece and then for a larger original work. The prof. said that we could use a photo for the practice one so I chose the beautiful pic 'My Little Warrior' by EvilxElf found here-----> [link]Mixed media: colored pencils, graphite, watercolor, acrylics, oil paint more watercolor and more colored pencils. Looked way better about five steps earlier. All the mediums kinda killed the color in my opinion but I just do what I'm told!

I think you did a great job with the technique. Good lights and darks and great color. I took a course with Chris Payne, he is an incredibly cool guy. I never could get the hang of the technique though.
