This is my attempt at creating a Phaser beam in Blender, The Phaser in the Background is supposed to be the Dustbuster Phaser shown in Seasons 1 and 2 of Star Trek TNG. Anyway, The Way I picture a Phaser beam working IRL is that no matter the power setting it inevitably heats up the air around it upon discharge but it can only burn through clothes or skin if set above Level 3 (Maximum Stun) as anything above it is life threatening due to burns that can get infected or Vaporizing someone or something if the setting is level 8 or above.

Update as of 9/16/17 at 1930 Hours: I Created a New Phaser That's a little more accurate witht the side details and toned down the size of the beam.
