This is my original character Njola.First time watercolor pencils. Any constructive criticism of any aspect is appreciated.
Watercolor pencils, ink, on thick watercolor paper. $10 mailed if you want the artwork, I need to buy art supplies. (Does not include rights to character but you do get the original artwork & not a reprint.)

First things first, I’m a sucker for mermaids, and this gal is stunning! Love how you did the dapply scales and the texture in her hair. The fairly monochrome character palette is offset nicely by the bright blue sea.
If I had to make a critique, it would be about the bend in her tail. It’s very common for people to draw mermaids with “knee joints” despite not having any legs, but the presence of those knee joints with severely decrease her swimming abilities and would take away her aquadynamics by jeopardizing her fusiform structure. Most fish (especially large ones) have a very taught, straight-up-and-down body type for maximum swimming ability!
Overall this is a great piece. Really like this lady! Also, welcome to dA!
