Robert Wadlow was a boy from Illinois that went down in history as the "tallest man in modern times" with a height that reached 8"11 feet tall. He reached his claim to fame by appearing in circuses (wore a traditional suit to keep his modesty), commercials with shoe companies that sold loafers custom built to his size, climbed the Empire State Building with NY governor Al Smith, and appeared in Ripley's Believe It or Not! cartoons. Despite his awesome size, Wadlow was a rather shy lad that mostly kept to himself and in 1940, his life was cut short by an infected foot blister. This minifigure of mine was based on the many Wadlow wax figures that appear in Ripley's Odditoriums and his body was based on the old Woody/Jessie minifigures made for the original LEGO Toy Story line where they had very long arms and legs.
