yeah, I use it for all my work, it's a lot easier to work on than actual canvas or canvas panels.

I wouldn't have that much control to paint like this.

yeah, Acrylic is paint, it's actually a very nice medium to work with, water based but waterproof when dry, quick drying unlike oils, you should be able to pick up a cheap set of 6 or colours for a few pounds if you have the urge to try them out, I got my first set from WHSmiths for less than a tenner,
