Saramaeus's better qualities include cleverness and a willing, helpful attitude. His curiosity is boundless, leading him from the shores of his home lake to its very deepest crevices in search of things to investigate and fiddle with. He loves strangers and will happily listen to even the most long-winded visitor disgorge their life story to him before helping them on their way with whatever aid he can provide. The happy little hatchling's merits are tempered by burning impatience, recklessness, and a regular habit of single-mindedly obsessing over whatever's recently caught his eye. Paying attention to surroundings? Thinking potentially-dangerous actions through ahead of time? Such things are not for Sar, who is also known to hunt prey he hasn't bothered to identify and eat it before it's stopped moving. While not a great lover of glittery treasure, he does enjoy collecting weird objects to admire and play with whenever he's bored.
