My favorite animal is the cougar -- this is just beautiful. I wish I could draw this good.

I love cougars, and wings, and rocky backgrounds.
This totally deserves the Daily Deviation, this is truly amazing.

Nice, but nothing special compared to all the other anthro-art on DA...

Why must it be special? It is special to me. Many other artists share similar interests, and one those happen to exist in the anthro genre. I love Native American culture, and always have, even before I began drawing, and when I discovered anthros, well, I thought they're simply perfect things to mix. Not to mention, this was a commission. It had its specific guidelines that I simply followed.
Thanks though.

Your picture is very good in its own right; my comment was aimed at the motif for choosing it for a Daily Deviation.

I can understand that. This is standard, definitely. I've seen DD anthro works with crazy styles and concepts.
As far as this being a DD, perhaps it has to do with the fact that it's definitely one of my best works. It's noticeable in this many things which do not exist in my other works.

What's with all the Goldenwolfen style-copies all the sudden? This has no composition.

I've been watching Goldenwolf for maybe 8-10 years, if you knew her work and her style more closely you really wouldn't be saying that.

Just because this is and anthro garbed out in Native American apparel does not mean it pertains in anyway to Goldenwolf. And I am tired of everyone mentioning such with artists who draw similar subjects. The only reason anyone ever brings up her work is because she has been around for quite some time and is so widely known. She's not the only one who draws anthros with beads and feathers, and to be honest, her style with pencils in incredibly simple. People experiment. I began this on a plane with a photo of a cougar and a Native American book, and I finished it on a plane. Frankly, I see subtle differences in this piece compared to one of hers. I Look back is my gallery. I've got my own style. It's evolved and changed, and still is. Sorry if there's no basic lighting and shadowing. I don't quite know how to do that. I'm still learning. I'm 16. There's MUCH more I need learn to do. This is not style-copy. Indeed her work was inspirational when I found it, but my interest in subjects like she creates came way before I discovered her works.

I've done it only a few works where there's subtle color, like this one: [link]
And honestly, I almost like this more than the cougar. I would absolutely love to learn to do crazy lighting with 5 different colors. I suppose the only reason that I did not with this one was I was aiming for something specific, and as it came to a close I did not want to mess anything up I could not fix. If there's any difference in my work, it's definitely anatomy. All of her anthros are much more toned and or skinny and lanky. I like ones which resembles more of a realistic human shape.
