Description Sîdhanar (Sîdh (Peace) + Hanar (Brother))  I'm Annoyed I cant use the î in the deviation title XD

This is the character card to compliment Roaming the wilderness , as It's just something I like to do with all my original characters  Sîdhanar actually originated in Skyrim for me, a Bosmer character I had created and role-played played for a while. I really was looking to create a Wild Elf since reading up on them within the Forgotten Realms, I found them fascinating and really fun to explore in RP. The particular race seems elusive, they don't seem to be nearly as common as many other types of elves in art. I am also swayed by the elves of Middle-Earth, hence the Sindarin inspired name, and the far less pronounced TES elf facial features, although Sîdhanar isn't tall. I don't know how people feel about mixing it up separate fictions, though I do feel its more the inspiration factor than anything else, I just love them all HAHA

I hope the image isn't too dark. I rendered with Iray and my set up for these type of renders had to be completely rethought lol

The Character is my own, and the figure is Genesis 2.

Really great. I know I did a character 'José' and had to settle for 'Jose'. How hard can it be? Love your work. Just discovered you by chance.

This is just fantastic work. Most of my original characters are based on when I played D&D in Forgotten Realms.

Yes the games can be a very great source for the creation of original characters, many created from D&D and Forgotten Realms I have found to be incredibly in-depth and dynamically shaped characters, like a being of their own completely. Thanks so much

I hate not being able to put accents and non-latin character's in the titles, too!

Great post and render.

Where's his good side? I think I'll park myself over there. Because that arrow looks pointy and he looks like he rarely misses his target

This comment is something I have thought quite a bit on, I thank you very much for mentioning it. You are right, and I am already looking into planning the next render of Sîdhanar to show the qualities I have written about him, but otherwise not shown yet. Thanks Mori

I like 3delight very much but somtimes i am rendering in Reality / Lux like this pic here.
But Reality 4 is a bit buggy ...
Now i try IRay too. My heroes in most cases haven't names because finding names is a greater problem for me
I invite you to our facebook-group "DAZ Studio Artists", where i am an admin there.

as always: i am a great fan of your work and when you are creating character - textures, do you sell them anywhere?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

SpyroRue In reply to Catweazle01 [2015-04-08 23:56:23 +0000 UTC]

Thank you, I shall keep that in mind

I do not sell anything yet, what I do is for personal use at this stage. Though I have released the odd freebies here and there on ShareCG  but I haven't released anything in a while. Just had too much going on.

He is simply amazing. He does look something out of a game for sure but then again all your art does.
Fantastic skin, I can never get mine to look like that! He looks so touchable and you are simply wonderful
and talented at what you do. I am so happy to know you and your art my dear friend!

You might also be happy to know that I had used your hair tutorial during the photoshop phase. Some of it is mesh, some of it was painted. the hair just kept rendering with a jagged shading so I gave up trying to fix it in the render and painted over it all LOL

HAH!! That makes me so happy! I am so glad my tutorial was helpful!

Think sometime very soon I will attempt to fully paint it, rather then semi. But know isn't gonna be easy for beginner like me lol

Let me know if you need any help with anything sweetie.

You are sooo kind! I am holding out on that offer, looking forward to such a collaboration with you!  But I want to make sure its gonna be a ripper of a render hehe. Many many thanks my friend

SpyroRue In reply to Nourak [2015-04-08 21:22:05 +0000 UTC]

Many thanks hun!  If only I could say I found the answer for skin in octane, I have yet to work that one out XD I found Iray very intuitive, afterall the main features for creating materials are already neatly included in the pre-built Shader, and everything is named properly for texture inputs and all that. But of course, I end up with long render-times just like I did in octane cos I am so picky LOL

I am likewise very happy to have you, you've given me so much inspiration and encouragement, and have made DA a place for me to call another home

Nourak In reply to SpyroRue [2015-04-09 17:22:56 +0000 UTC]

Yep, I also am working on that it is a bitch and people who did unlocked it
are not willing to give out that info as we talked about this before so between
Laticis and my own stuff I am struggling through it. It sure does look better than
before but still not getting what I want. =/

Anytime my friend!

SpyroRue In reply to Nourak [2015-04-12 18:21:58 +0000 UTC]

People often very reluctant to share such things. Sooner or later though, kind folks like Laticis will spread the word Or shall word not reach your ears, I am certain you will find the way, already I'm seeing such improvements, specially in your recent Art Trade

Nourak In reply to SpyroRue [2015-04-12 21:36:16 +0000 UTC]

Thank you so much love! Well, I am willing to help anybody who comes to me
asking me how I do it etc etc. I have been going over many things and even
though one setting comes out great at one scene doesn't mean same setting
comes out great in another, that is the frustrating with octane. So I keep fiddling
with the damn thing.

Indeed, every project is different, its almost impossible to create things generically, lighting particularly!

SpyroRue In reply to ThierryCravatte [2015-04-08 20:47:29 +0000 UTC]

Many thanks Thierry! It was a bit difficult this time, despite I have allot of archer characters, this guy is a lefty and it took a bit for me to invert it in my mind as odd as that sounds. I guess it comes from me being right handed personally, and I usually do the poses I make myself, when looking for faults lol

62guy [2015-04-08 06:44:54 +0000 UTC]

Very well done (and with an accurate render of archery, too). I play a lot of Skyrim, one can produce a character somewhat like him with the vanilla game. (Using a Bosmer base.) The outfit requires mods, tho...he makes me think of a Bosmer raised by the Forsworn.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

SpyroRue In reply to 62guy [2015-04-08 20:40:29 +0000 UTC]

Haha Thank you so much It was extensive work in the character creator, cos its not easy reducing the strong facial details of the Bosmer, I didnt get half as close as I wanted to my character here, but hey I could get passed that in my imagination hehe. I have a fascination for the forsworn, would collect everything I could from them, not that they had great stats lol Wished they weren't all so violent and savage, would loved to have got to know them.

62guy In reply to SpyroRue [2015-04-09 07:39:17 +0000 UTC]

Take Madanach's side in the Forsworn Conspiracy; the Forsworn at the Druadach Redoubt become friendly (but only them, the other Forsworn are hostile). As an aside, followers such as Lydia and even Serana, will wear Forsworn armor if it is well enough smithed.

Ah yes, in Markrath! I took my Khajiit through that mission, but having not read up on it, I made a mistake and ruined the outcome XD I really must send my elf through there some day and get it right LOL TY btw
