Description Let us write one for the Joy, though She be a nymph
Whose laugh and touch is vapor gently clothing limb
Yet evaporates at dawn, lingering, dissipates by noon
A weary traveler stripped clutches empty bag and rags

Oh but when joy dances I cannot spell the song!
Though she rob us of our riches I cannot say I'm wronged
Her trade is color glorious color that endures a mere instant
And the test of human heart is to guard the vibrancy of memory

Lest even what we have slowly drained from clutching hands
And suffering mind heedless forget the dignity of perseverance
As the grace of Her withdrawal blesses even emptiness
Remembering is generosity and Recollection gratitude

Sew a garden for the seeds of sadness joy's absence breeds
Let peace be the flower that rises from thorns and brambled weeds
Allow joy to walk on softly gracefully into dimming mist
Savor her departure, friend, for she seals it with a kiss.
