Description Dance she did and dance she must, through the dark night. Her shoes took her through thorn and briar that scratched her until she bled. She danced across the wastelands until she came to a lonely little house.

Probably, the saddest fairytale in the world

Haha, this tale freaked me out, I nearly cried when I first heard it as a child~
Does the girl has a happy ending in your version?~
The cemetery as a bg is scary (lol~) but the girl has such a sweet a ballerina feel on her~

SquidPig In reply to CaramelCookie [2009-09-28 17:11:11 +0000 UTC]

happy ending? well... if as a happy ending you mean that she gets stop dancing cutting her feet by herself... yes.... she has a happy ending xD

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

CaramelCookie In reply to SquidPig [2009-10-02 02:22:30 +0000 UTC]

Haha, that's not happy at all~
In my version she regretted her sin (being selfish? I don't really remember the beginning) and an angel came and restored her feet back, so she lived on normally and such.

Still love the picture though!

not so tragic, the shoes led to her to cut herself her feet. But it's sad anyway

I can't really tell what the moral here was.

Listen to your elders?

Keep your mind on the task at hand and not your vanity?

WingedLioness In reply to Poshu [2009-09-20 22:34:33 +0000 UTC]

not to have sinfully intence obsessions, and never wear red shoes to church(red being the color of the devil) and yes probably not to be too vain.

lol not really, I basicly got all of that from my english class last year. we kept having to find symbols and metaphores and such all the time. the shoes are probably a symbol for greed or something but whatever... it doesn't really mater.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Poshu In reply to WingedLioness [2009-09-21 03:17:35 +0000 UTC]

See, I never got it... even in class. I tried and tried and while I am good at most everything else, I think that is just something I am not destined to have skills in.

thats okay. but oh, today in spanish class, we were working in pairs and when we went to the board to describe our partners weekend, I noticed that my partner had red flats on. my teacher noticed too and said, "oh those remind me of a story. they are like the shoes in the wizard of oz(minus sparkles). but it reminded me of this story, and I kept thinking about it the rest of class. o well

I wanted to, but my sinora is very instistant that we speak in spanish all class(which no one does)... but yeah...
and I did know her(she is on my xc and track team) but she was a year older than me and isn't really a friend of mine.
but that would have been funny if I had told her!

Poshu In reply to WingedLioness [2009-09-22 00:34:35 +0000 UTC]

I know that all-day-spanish days... eff those. No one really says anything anyway.

WingedLioness In reply to Poshu [2009-09-22 02:04:25 +0000 UTC]

yeah. I hate it. this year in spanish Sra says that we are old enough to speak in spanish all the time and we will be doing it allllll year... we also have to read spanish liturature this year... it is haaaarrd. my teacher basicly rambles on at us and then expects us to do someting. the hard part is that there are two levels in the class now, since they are the highest two levels that my school provides, and everyone in my level is like omg.. we don't speak spanish, and the other level is like omg we know so much more than you guys do...
lol I think it is really cool that we both take spanish.
sorry for my stupidly long post...

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Poshu In reply to WingedLioness [2009-09-23 02:22:01 +0000 UTC]

ah, I apologize for my posts being short.

I speak some Spanish, not as much as I should for having it ingrained into me for so many years. Yeah, I can't have a language just told to me and be able to read and speak it, that is odd your class is combined with the two levels. Can the higher level read the literature required?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

WingedLioness In reply to Poshu [2009-09-23 15:53:51 +0000 UTC]

its okay that your posts were short. lol. how many years have you been taking spanish?? this is my 5th year, so I am in level 4(the first 2 years were both level 1)
the older students can read the book(lazarillo de tormes) more easily than we can. we can read it, but it takes about 30 min per page and I at least have to look up words every few seconds...

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Poshu In reply to WingedLioness [2009-09-24 03:18:27 +0000 UTC]

Well, technically I've had Spanish since I was born? I am half Mexican, but that doesn't mean I speak worth a crap. I've taken Spanish classes since seventh grade so...six years? I stopped taking it after high school. [Junior in College now, but I'm only 20! I'm not old! DX]

Oh I remember having to look every few words up, if ever there was a sentence that I didn't have too look up something I was excited.

btw, I like your new avatar.
