With a rash of dystopic maps being posted to the Map Thread over at AlternateHistory.com I thought I'd find a new way to depress people - a map of a world that, from around 2010 onwards, started rolling boxcars every time. The depressing angle being, it's not our world. I included the date I created it - 2013 - at the bottom, as otherwise I thought people were liable to mistake it for an overly optimistic pre-2008 map.

Incidentally, the title was not a Kid Rock reference, but a nod to a Tale I wrote over on the SCP Foundation:

For the first time in a very long time, the agents of the Foundation wish they still had a Dr Glüt to take these broken people away to a dark room; to do the things in secrecy that should have been done in the light, to make them whole again, to make them tell themselves what they had experienced was a coma dream or a show on TV. To play God and do what God does—giving people another chance.
