Whatever one would call that outfit Lei-Fang is wearing would not be out of place in a Final Fantasy title. She has some nice hips there as she lays there in a seductive manner.

I love the colorful style. There is some great lighting work, too!
Beautiful! Β

How long does eevee take to render? Is it as quick as Toolbag?

Does it use the same material system as cycles? Like, if you make an eevee render, could you switch
to cycles and render it without altering any materials and lights? It would make an interesting work-flow.
Fine-tune render in eevee and then render final version in cycles.

You can, potentially, do that.Β
However, I have had some issues with that especially in the SSS area.
They might look good in Eevee, but if you switch to cycles, it's way too much.
Lights also can't all be taken into eevee.
Cycles works wonders with Emission planes as lights that emit towards the model.
Eevee doesn't support those kind of lights. So while you can easily switch over, you do have to make some adjustments.
But it's still in Beta, so by its full release, who knows, maybe it'll be marvelous and works without any problems.
Here is a quick example of what I mean:
On the left, you have Eevee- bright lights appear, skin is nice and soft, hair transparent etc.
When you switch over to Cycles with the same settings (unchanged) in materials etc and lights, it's darker, the light isn't much present, skin darker too. Hair has transparency issues and all of it.
BUT that said, both are amazing to work with so if you want quick good looking results, take Eevee. If you want physically accurate and more precise results, cycles would be the way to go!

The difference might be due what color space the calculations are done in.Β
If EEVEE operates in SRGB colorspace, it gamma corrects every light and texture before calculations.
If cycles operates in linear colorspace, it ONLY gamma corrects the final rendered image (and not individual lights and textures).
It might all boil down to a checkbox, or some option, that is set differently between the two engines.
Anyway, you should be able approx eevee's result by gamma correcting your cycles image. See below:
Β
That's just the color tone though. Other diffferences, such as transparency, reflections, and such, will
be different. Eevee uses rasterization, so it can handle transparent faces in the same spot, while
cycles will get confused if there is no distance between them. And reflections, we know Eevee cheats,
while blender will create those far more accurately... but that should look better I think.
It would be so nice if you could switch between the two, and the only difference was that the cycles
version looked a lot better. Then you could work with Eevee to set up the scene, and use cycles
as the final render.

I think this is perfectly fine as it is. The pose and outfit are exotic without being explicit. The dark background pushes Lei Fang and the colors to the front without it feeling saturated or overwhelming. The light source from the side is just right, not too dull, not too powerful. I am always on the lookout for the tiniest clips and errors, and the only thing I've found is bottom-most fuzzy-ring on the boot, near the left foot, looks like it's floating, or not attached, but I don't think it's that big of a deal.
Great job! d(^.^)b

*Stares*
So how do you feel about Eevee considering you have also used marmoset in the past? I keep seeing people making comparisons about them, but i wonder how many have actually used them both instead of reading posts online.

Sreliata In reply to XeeXk [2019-01-05 18:46:09 +0000 UTC]
Is it.. a good or bad staring? Β°_Β°"
Also: I think you can't really compare them both.
Cycles has way more accurate results but also takes a LOT longer to deliver them.
Eevee cheats its way through to deliver good results. Or good enough at least.
I think if you have a big peace you really want to make huge and accurate, cycles is the way to go.
But for things you want to finish quick and just 'have it done' in a nice and representitive way, eevee can do it for you! ^-^

*Jiiiiii*
Hmm interesting.
I do wish however the "Internets" wouldn't seem stuck on making very simple Marmoset vs Eevee or UE4(probably the Archviz crowd) vs Eevee comparisons, and instead went into detail of how one does this vs the other instead.
But i do like the ability to see everything in realtime with eevee, however i do wish the lights actually used nodes instead of being stuck with their blender render method of working.

Yeah, it's really stupid to compare everything all the time.
Each of them has its charm and plus- as well as cons.
Personally, I do enjoy all of it.
Marmoset. Eevee. Cycles. And I find it hard to compare because they are, despite being 'the same', all so different you know?Β
