my contest entry for 's contest, section 2: old, rarely drawn fan characters.I shoes to draw her demon beast character Melodya kirbycutieslove76.deviantart.cβ¦Β because I just adore her design. you rarely see any original demon beasts, and I think this one is just brilliant.
DAT HAIR. IS SO INSANE. AND POOFY.
the bow was giving me no end of grief to draw, but coloring it was really fun.this is probably the largest portrait of a single character I've ever done, even larger than some of my Dominus pictures.
and in case you were wondering, yes, my hand still hurts, all the more from trying to chuck this out as quickly as possible. but it was worth it.

I really admire the shading here. It's beautiful, soft, and stunning for this character. I love how lovely the ribbon appears and how the circle starts to fade upwards. You should make her eyes a little darker for her stand out more. Very nice!

I did these differently than any of my others: I outlined where I would have the lines thicker, and then filled it in later.

I spent too much time doing drawings at the "last minute" I want to get more active.

oh, what I meant by last minute ideas was when drawing. for me, when I am still sketching or outlining, I will have the idea to add something else that I never originally planned on, but put in anyways. many of my drawing are like that.
