My entry into 's first contest. I've been wanting to try out the painting style I saw on some new wallpapers from IDW recently, and old Astrotrain was my perfect test subject. G1 'Formers are all planes and straight lines, so it should be simple, right? If I remember to make it simple...

Unfortunately it wasn't an entirely successful test. I swear, that grin looked way more evil in the sketch... And near the end I completely forgot how to paint lips. -_-; Nyeargh. Oh well.

Yeah, the rest of the 'Cons underestimate old Astrotrain just because he's their slave labor/intergalactic mass transit system. But they should watch out. He could dump them all out next to a black hole on the way home if he chose.

Completely useless dental plating wheee! (Some astute people might notice the background is a very dark shade of purple. Astrotrain's a spacefaring guy, so hey. Law of Purple!)
