Description Well, in case anyone was interested in what I was up to behind the scenes, during this relative hiatus in the last several weeks, it was working on a prospective MLP fan-film, called Regal, headed by one Ian Ballinger .

Regal was intended to be the story of Equestria being completely taken over by Changelings, the princesses being kidnapped, and the Mane 6, our heroines, had to rescue them and all of Equestria against seemingly insurmountable odds.

But as it turns out, the Regal film was not to be. It has now come to my attention that it has been canceled. Just as well that it happened sooner, rather than later, when more time and effort had been invested.

The Bright side? I get to share with you what I created as a concept artist for this film project. I mostly did “bad guy” character designs. Any and all constructive criticism is welcome.

Above are depicted the Changelings. I hope you like them.

I will probably move to my scraps later.

This is a very well made piece of art. Their descriptions are very detailed but still compact, and you gave us a good insight of in what way you think the hive works, may it be in battle or in times of peace. The way you combined our knowledge of real-life insect colonies with what is canon in the show by creating different kinds of changelings shows that you are dedicated and make sure that it adheres to what we saw in "A Canterlot Wedding".
The concept art of every kind of changeling is great. You depicted all of their strengths and made it easy to guess their role inside the hive even if it weren't for the descriptions. Their colours are very strong, I just think you should have made their wings a bit more see-through and their carapaces have a slightly green tint which you didn't add, but it's your art and if that's your own interpretation then that's alright. Perhaps Chelicera could have a slightly smaller horn since she is still a hatchling, that huge thing could be very difficult to live with until she grows taller and stronger.
Overall, I really enjoyed this idea and even though it's a pity the film couldn't be made, I am glad that we got to see your creation. I know there would be issues with copyright, but it would be awesome if your depiction of the hive could one day become canon! But please keep up the great work, your art looks amazing. I really love your style!

Yes, if I were to redo this piece now, there are a number of things I would improve; not the least of which would be not going so crazy with the size of Chelicera's horn, or the length of the Changeling General's sabre teeth.

You're welcome! And, well, everybody improves! I'm not absolutely satisfied with my own art either, but I sadly don't have enough time to practice a lot so my progression will be slow. But anyway, I really loved that concept art!

Well, what can I say? This is just spectacular.
The "young chrysalis" is quiet funny, and the 4th is quiet scary.
And... that one with the antennae give me an inspiration.
It's not a problem if I use his antennae for one of my oc's?
If it's not a problem.

Also, I love your style.

Now, don't think I'm mad, but i need to qrite some numbers becouse the critique want it.

This is what I was looking for, and surprisingly, the description is 'as same as' what I am thinking all along : There was a sub-Archetype such as Beetle Changeling, Arachnida Changeling, etc. Also, the concept of the Queen's horn and the Hatchling... ^^ Great I say! I don't know about that.  The 'evil' changelings are kind of out of date at this point.  Maybe I could re-imagine how the "good" changelings might look as army, led by Pharynx of course.
