Here's where you avatar comes from! I think this painting is very fine. The play of light and shadow is well done, the hair (so casually draped to the side) is equally marvelous, and the depths of her eyes seem so very deep, viewers could fall into them forever...while she understands (more than) everything in her sight. The background color is good and nothing detracts from this lovely portrait. Thank you.

Thanks! The original photo actually had nothing to do with Chel, and even when I painted it I didn't change it at all except to make the earrings gold instead of brown. But it's pretty much perfect accidental cosplay.

Chel's earrings? Actually she does change to a gold pair about half way through the film. Either way, half my aim was to evoke more of the whole city of gold atmosphere. I thought the original brown earrings weren't as nice, compositionally.
